5Worth every penny
By Ram
I was really hesitant to buy this tv initially because I could hardly find reviews for this TV. I finally decided to buy and bought the same tv with LG wifi blu ray player for $799 from frys during Thanks giving sale. Color calibration is outstanding. Sound bar is amazing. 3D effects and quality are surprisingly good. I was scared of seeing bad pixels / motion issues. 120hz trumotion is amazing. I'v been watching NFL in this tv and this TV is awesome. You can control TV and sound bar with one remote. 3D blu ray player was a bonus.

4LG55LM5800 with sound bar
By Prasad Nair
Saw this TV at BestBuy and it was hard to decide since I didnt find any reviews. But so far its been good to have this TV at home. No significant issue is noticed. The sound bar remote is integrated with some key functionality of the TV. For eg. you can use only the sound bar remote and switch on the TV with that, that makes life easier. 2D to 3D conversion is good when content is played from a DVD or Blueray. Most of the streaming content is of less quality and those with low quality its better to watch in 2D rather than 3D. I have XBOX console with me and most of the stuff I watch by streaming thru XBOX. Quality is good when streaming thru XBOX. I watch cable TV rarely, since most of the stuff is thru streaming nowadays.

3A good TV for the money - UPDATE
By E. Hibbard
I purchased this TV for $399 on a lightning deal and thought that I was buying at a great price. A week and half later the regular price dropped to $369 and thanks to Amazon's TV price guarantee I received a credit for the difference. That makes this TV an AWESOME deal. The TV is easy to set up, simply tighten 3 screws to the stand. When I turned it on, the first thing I noticed was that the screen is very bright and because it is LED backlit, the white is a very cool blue. I toyed with the settings a bit, and set the warmth to cool and the mode to movie. A previous reviewer's comments about the color settings are dead on, and the combination I am using creates the most natural color settings. When I initially connected the TV, I was not overly enthused by the picture quality, there were artifacts and quite a bit of pixelation. Also, after I had turned the TV off for a while and then turned it back on, I would have sound and no picture except for vertical lines. The display said the picture was broadcasting at 0p. I was worried that this might have been a bad purchase, and that I would have to return the TV.I run a TIVO and ROKU box through my Sony home theater system. My problem with the vertical lines stemmed from the settings on my receiver. After I reset the receiver, shutting off the standby and and HDMI pass-thru I have had no further issues with vertical lines and a 0p signal. My ROKU looked awesome from the get go, and I had no issues with pixelation or artifacts, so I reasoned that my issues with picture had something to do with my cable/TIVO. I corrected the issues by manually adjusting the broadcast settings on my TIVO, so that it would transmit at 480p through 1080p. This eliminated 99% of my issues with the picture. I don't watch sports so the 60Hz refresh rate is adequate for my needs.I can't comment on sound, since I use a home theater system, but I will say that, since I properly tuned the settings, I really like the picture on this TV and I am glad that I made the purchase and that I don't have to return it.***UPDATE*** 12/14/12I AM EXCHANGING THIS TV BECAUSE OF THE APPEARANCE OF BLUE HORIZONTAL LINES ACROSS THE SCREEN. I SHOULD RECEIVE A REPLACEMENT ON TUESDAY. I AM CROSSING MY FINGERS THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A DEFECTIVE UNIT. I WOULD RECOMMEND PURCHASING SERVICE CONTRACT IF YOU PURCHASE THIS TELEVISION.

5Buy store brand cereal? Then this TV is for you
By UPS man
We have a LG 3d 55 downstairs we bought last year for the living room for over a grand, this TV is not it. That being said, it is a great value for what it is, a basic non smart 1080p LED slim TV (with 2, not 3 HDMI ports). If you're looking for Samsung/Sony/LG quality picture or stream anything using just this TV, we'll you're out of luck. I'd suggest buying a set a 2.1 computer speakers for around 30 bucks to make this thing the perfect buy. The kids have yet to complain the ICarly looks like crap or come wondering downstairs crying because they can't stream Season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This TV is for someone on a budget, looking to put this in an additional room, or someone who doesn't care if it's name brand or not, they just want something that's big and works. Pair this with a cheap bluray player with some apps (amazon streaming,NetFlix, ect) 2.1 computer speakers, and a wall mount to make this perform bestGet close to the name brand quality out of this off brand name, the value for what you get is well worth it.UPDATE- Added photos to help show some of the features and size.

5Great TV for the price
By Bob
I bought this TV on Wednesday and had it by Friday with the free super saver shipping. Amazing. I am not a tv/ tech freak like most people who buy TVs. I was looking for a bargain and I think this TV is worth what I paid. It exceeds expectations for a $350 hdtv set.Picture Quality:The picture quality is great, very sharp and very bright. Great colors and sharpness. I was really worried about getting a 60hz tv because I watch a lot of sports and will play xbox on occasion. I have not hooked up the xbox yet, but I watched some basketball and football on this set and it looks great. I have it next to a 120hz set and honestly, I cant really tell a difference. It is not choppy and it is not blurry while watching sports. There may be a slight difference but you really have to concentrate to look for it.If you are a casual/ average viewer, you will be pleased. If you want to compare this to 600-700 tv, I'm sure it isnt as good, but is that what you are expecting? The quality is more than fine and you will be satisfied for the price you pay.Notes:As others have said, this tv has 2 HDMI ports, not 3. The remote is pretty cheap and the reference manual is a joke. The stand is good quality and the tv itself, picture aside, looks really nice. The bezel is small and it has a brushed texture finish. It doesn't look cheap and if it didn't have the name "haier" on it, you would probably think it cost a lot more than it does. I read reviews about the speakers and how much they suck. At first when I was testing it out, I thought the speakers really did kinda suck. It has a plug for hooking up your own set of speakers so I quickly remedied that. With all this being said, I have owned the tv for a couple days and have tried to test it out with movies, sports, and general tv. Overall it is good and I give it a thumbs up.I should also note that it did not have any dead pixels. If I run into any issues, I will update this review.

4The 55LM9600
By Larry
My wife and I bought the LG 55LM9600 after having heard about this through CES 2012 and waiting for this TV since December 2011. It arrived after ordering through Amazon in 4 days with white glove installation services. We are very impressed with this TV after owning it now for 5 days.Pros 4 out of 5 stars:Nano full array LED backlightingMagic Motion remote with motion control, voice recognition, dedicated apps button, dedicated 3d button. This remote's motion is much more accurate than the Nintendo Wii.Dual Core processor provides very quick responses to input selectionPassive 3D using FPR with no observed crosstalk or image distortion6 pairs of 3D glasses includedLG apps and the Appstore5mm Bezel is amazing, the image looks like it floats because the TV border is so slimLightweightGood viewing angles, brightness and contrast ratios (blacks look black not grey)Image looks great with no glaring faults **Edit 7/7/2012, second TV exhibited glaring 24p motion trailing faults, see below for more info**Cons (docked 1 star due to the following):Price: $3299 at release at the time of reviewNetwork key settings not saved between TV power off cycles (power button on remote, not unplugged from surge protector).Semi-glossy coating is reflective in living rooms with a lot of ambient lightLG appstore requires an account creation3D audio/video was out of sync when watching Alice in Wonderland 3D with my Sony Blu-Ray Home Theatre system BDV-E780W. I tried messing with the settings for AV sync in Settings->Audio but could not get the audio to match the video. (You would hear a person talk before their lips were seen moving). Nothing I tried fixed it completely but was able to get the delay down to under half a second. BTW: My TV is up to date using the network update function. This is related to 3D only, switching to 2D does not have sync issues. I am using HDMI 1.4 spec cables.***EDIT 7/7/2012: We contacted Amazon and exchanged the TV for another LM9600 due to the network key not saving between power-offs. The second TV had the same issue, so I contacted LG (they couldn't figure it out) and did some logical thinking and troubleshooting and found that the problem is that the Network SSID has spaces in the pre-fix part of the name and when the TV would try to save the name it was incorrectly formatting it and thus searching for an SSID that doesn't exist. I changed the SSID of my network and it started saving correctly. However, the second TV exhibited performance issues that the first did not. Namely the 24p issue where there are noticeable motion trails when people wear black and are moving relatively quickly. I noticed this when watching Harry Potter 7 part 2. There is a scene where students wearing black are going down a spiral staircase and the blurring was so noticeable it was distracting. At first I thought it was a camera effect but realized that it was not when watching on a different TV. We have since returned the TV altogether and got a Panasonic 60" GT50 for a LOT better price and a significantly better picture quality. Honestly, my wife and I feel it is a huge upgrade. ***

255LM9600 - A Great Looking TV with Great Features, But with One Huge Fundamental Flaw
By system accezz
I bought this TV a few weeks ago and have been testing it with a variety of contents since receiving it. I had a LG 55LV9500 Full Array LED prior to this TV, which had pretty good black levels. First the positives and negatives.PositivesDecent black level - not even close to my previous TV thoughAmazing 3D quality - best I have seen yet, with almost zero crosstalk. Also more comfortable than Active 3d since I do wear eyeglasses.Playback of Media files via DLNA is great - DTS support is included!Great looks - best looking TV I have seenNo Haloing effects - this was very present in my previous TV, looks like LG fixed that issueExcellent menus and SmartTV functionalityNegatives24p playback flaw - see comments below! Some vertical banding present - very evident when spanning across a landscape or when watching sportsNon-uniform screen - some clouding in the bottom right and upper left - even with Local Dimming activated! Evident in wide screen movies in the black barsSome of the apps are not accessible - e.g. MLB.TV app has a Coming Soon placeholder.Only One Remote included - No original remote included with this TV, only the Magic Motion oneFinal Comment:After a few weeks of use, this TV is going to go back to Amazon. The main reason is the flaw with playback of 24p content. This was seen in the European models prior to its arrival here and it looks like it is also present on NA models as well. There are motion trails seen especially in dark scenes, which lead to a very degraded picture, not to mention it being annoying as well. I have seen it in a few movies as well as episodes of The Walking Dead and Falling Skies. Playback of the same scenes in 60hz has no such issues however. For the price, the TV is definitely not worth it at the moment in my opinion. However, if the 24p issue is ever fixed and the price is lowered a bit, I believe that the TV would become a great addition to anyone's household.

5Best LG I have ever owned!
By Marty Gillis
The LG LM 9600 is currently the flagship for LG, unless you can spring for a $12,000 OLED or a $20,000 Ultra HD (4K) set. I will admit here and now to being a real fan of LG LCD/LED TV's and own 4 of them including the 9600.I have wanted to own this TV since it was first announced but I just couldn't swing the initial almost Four Thousand dollar price. YIKES! Since LG has just announced their 2013 line-up, the 9600 has come down in price dramatically and once it hit the 2K mark I had to bite. I am not willing to worry about burn-in, buzzing and a higher power bill (Plasma) and am sensitive to "Rainbows" (DLP)so a LCD/LED set is really my only choice. I can't afford a Sharp Elite so it was down to either THIS TV or the Sony HX950. In the end I choose LG again and it was partly due to price but mostly due to my continuing good luck with the brand and liking the large amount of control over the video.I have ZERO interest in the "Smart TV" features and honestly wish the manufacturers could concentrate on giving us a more "Perfect" TV picture instead of all the bells and whistles. As such, my review is basically about picture quality and associated issues. I do admit to TRYING the browser and the performance is MUCH snappier than the 7600 since this set has the dual core processor. It is still slow as a slug compared to even the most basic Windows 7 PC. I like the almost infinite amount of picture control and the ability to enjoy my PAL DVD collection played upconverted at it's native 50hz with no frame rate conversion. This TV is nicely built and looks great. I am pushing 60 and could assemble it and set it up by myself although it was a bit of a workout. Screen IS a bit reflective but for me it is a non issue as my viewing environment is purposely dark. I use a bias light mounted behind the TV which lowers viewing fatigue and increases perceived contrast and black levels and it also significant lowers any perceived flash-lighting that may exist. The 9600 does NOT have the best black levels you can get, but with proper set-up and calibration and a bit of care you can coax a REALLY good picture out of it.My only actual complaint regarding the build of this TV is the idiotic inclusion of a chrome trim strip that runs the length of the front bezel. Yes it is small, but it is HIGHLY reflective and a royal pain the rear for anyone wanting to watch without the distraction of annoying glare emanating from the bezel itself. Dumb choice, on par with the new Sony stand. (makes you wonder if the designers even WATCH these things)Comparing the 9600 to my other LG's (6200, G2 and 7600) I can honestly say it is the absolute BEST of them all. Nice bump in picture detail for HD sources, especially 1080p Blu Ray or HD DVD media. It is just plain sharper and clearer than any LG I own (after calibration) and has the best on-board sound of any of them as well. The increase in perceived resolution can be a double edged sword as the 9600 is somewhat unforgiving with highly compressed SD cable broadcasts and poorly mastered DVD's. There is plenty of on-aboard processing to help you deal with that and a good Blu Ray player such as an Oppo will go a long way towards massaging poor video before it even hits the 9600. If you feed it a pristine 1080p high bit rate/nicely mastered Blu Ray it will really shine. I truly believe that 55 inches is pushing it size-wise even for 1080p but from my centered viewing distance of about 6 feet it looks VERY nice and totally involving while watching movies.I have not personally had a problem with 24 frame material, but judder seems to be a problem unless the Tru Motion is engaged. Like almost everyone else, I personally HATE the "Soap Opera" effect but find that setting the "Blur" and "Judder" controls to just "1"can alleviate the judder without introducing unwanted video artifacts. If anything, setting it to "1" gives you a bit more clarity and the sideways motion is just a little bit unnatural looking, but judder is gone so I will live with it. If you have to have absolute natural motion, LCD is probably not for you anyway.Out of the box the picture quality is just not very good. (unless you enjoy a combination of "Flame Mode" with a healthy dose of "Soap Opera" thrown in for good measure) LG requires calibration to look it's best, but you will be rewarded with a much better than"average" HD picture afterward. I use a combination of Speers and Munsil , HD Video Essentials, and the AVS forum calibration discs. You can search many online forums for good starting points but your own settings will reflect your source components. (ie: your Blu Ray player, DVR, etc.) Once dialed in, the 9600 will totally rock-n-roll!! Honestly, once properly calibrated, even basically, this thing will knock your socks off. A HUGE step up from my 7600. My friends and family have seen me go thru 9 HDTV's in the last 7 years and as sick as they are at looking at my latest TV each and every one of them was impressed with the 9600's picture quality. As far as I am concerned, until OLED or Sony's much ballyhooed "Crystal LCD" is perfected AND comes way way down in price THIS is the TV I will watch.LG has seemingly skimped on actual dimming zones with this model but in reality this new design eliminates one of the worst problems associated with a full local dimming panel and that is HALOS...... I have ZERO halos on this panel which makes it a real step up from most other full LED backlit TV's.To extract the very best picture from this beastie, you will need to go against your old ways of dong things just a bit and set the backlight quite a bit lower than you would think you need. In my case, in a darkened environment I have calibrated the LM9600 using a base backlight setting of "30" and a 2.2 Gamma which gives me wiggle room in case I run across a DVD or Blu Ray that was mastered too light or dark. (You simply put up or down your Gamma to solve any brightness or darkness problems temporarily. Then just switch it back to 2.2 for everything else.ALSO, if you set your local dimming to "HIGH" you can achieve almost plasma-like blacks while avoiding all the pitfalls of plasma. The only defect in my 9600 is a slight amount of flashlighting in the lower right hand comer. It is not bad unless the program material is solid black in that corner, then it sticks out like a sore thumb. But using the Local Dimming on HIGH and keeping the backlight at 30 it still gives me plenty of dynamic range between the contrast and brightness controls and I can enjoy a nice bright and dynamic picture with plenty of pop and very deep blacks and the added bonus of MINMAL flashlighting! (almost none in fact) That type of calibration also helps greatly with perceived banding by the way. The screen is never clipped and your whites are white, blacks are black and there is plenty of thick rich contrast between them. Color pops more too as a result, as does fine detail in faces and objects. The only REAL area where the 9600 falls a bit short is you must sacrifice just a small amount of shadow detail to get everything else in line. I can live with that, it is PRETTY darn close to what I want in a TV. I just watched the 'Alien' Blu Ray and thought I was viewing a high end plasma, only brighter! NICE!Now for the downside: The 9600 (and EVERY OTHER LCD/LED out there including the $5000 plus Sharp Elite) suffers from varying degrees of Flashlighting, Horizontal Banding and Dirty Screen Effect.IT is important to note that ALL LCD/LED TV's, whether they be edge lit or full LED backlit with local dimming have these "problems" . They are directly related to the technology used and the actual construction and design of the panels themselves. To avoid these issues, go with Plasma or DLP, although both of those suffer from their own video anomalies. It really boils down to WHICH set of unwanted artifacts you are willing and prepared to live with when watching your television. There is currently NO SUCH THING as a perfect TV and once you realize this and accept it you can adjust your expectations accordingly. I have had to do so, reluctantly, but at least I can find some degree of happiness with the current offerings. For me, the LG LM 9600 has way more positives than negatives and gives me overall the very best picture of any television I have ever owned in my more than 55 years of watching. My flashlighting is limited to a very small area on the bottom right corner. It is VERY small and a non issue for me. Banding is also MUCH LESS than any LCD/LED I have owned so far. While viewing an episode of "Frozen Planet" to test for banding, I found it is only really noticeable during those horizontal pans when a solid light background is displayed. (no surprises there eh?) And even then, it has perhaps 85% LESS banding than my LG 7600. Proper calibration, including a judicious use of your backlight control can work wonders in minimizing the dreaded banding and also go a long way towards eradication your "Dirty Screen Effect"....... I decided to watch "Fargo" to see if the amount of banding and dirty screen effect would interfere with the enjoyment of the movie. It didn't, and I am way too picky for my own good. Again, compared to the other LG models I own, this one has the unwanted artifacts down to a minimum. I am not saying the 9600 is better than any other tech or brand out there as one size does not fit all when it comes to TV's, but the overall flexibility of LG's control/processing system coupled with the plethora of web features, the more than acceptable passive 3-D and the built in Media Player gives you a whole lot for your money, considering the the current asking price! (around 2 thousand)AND YES, there is a bit of a "panel lottery" going on with this model but you are going to find that with EVERY brand and Model. Even the Sony HX950 can have major banding problems as seen in a customer review posted here on Amazon. Unfortunately it is really a hit or miss proposition and no brand is immune. Build quality and quality control in general is suffering lately across the board. Phooey! For less than half the price of the Elite I am VERY happy with the LG LM9600. It is the most money I have ever spent on a television and admit to being just a bit disappointed that you can not buy your way out of Banding and Dirty Screen Effect with LCD displays but looking at things objectively I do think the 9600 is a great buy for Two Grand.....*** see the comment section for some semi incoherent ramblings about my efforts in trying to extract the best possible picture from this TV.....

5Very Good Picture, And The Best Apps Around
By R. Moroney
We are very pleased with the picture and the sound. The Vizio's LED backlighting yields excellent color renditions. Skin tones look great too. The motion smoothness is at least as good as other 120 hz sets I've watched. Sports look so much better on this TV than on my 2010 47" Sharp, actually every DirectTV HD channel looks better on this TV than the Sharp. We are especially happy with the NetFlix interface. We were expecting a crude and basic functionality (like our Sony BluRay player which is just painful to use). We like the Vizio app even better than our Roku HD rig. Much better. Smooth and snappy response to your inputs, scroll through your queue, search, and recommended movies. Takes just a few moments to buffer your selection and you are good to go. NetFlix HD movies look fantastic in LCD/LED. Saved $60-$80 on a second Roku box, and Vizio works better too!Have not messed around with the Amazon movie app too much, other than setting up access, and that part went very well.Accessing our WiFi was a piece of cake. Choose your home network and enter your password, you're done. The setup guidance took care of everything.Bought this TV at Costco. It was about $85 under Amazon's price, with free delivery too.

2Changed from a 5 star to a 2 star. FOR 37" & 47" ONLY
By Brice S.
Read the bottom for the final update that changed the review from 5 stars to 2.So let me first start off by saying this. Never, never buy a flat screen tv online. They usually do not have the same warranties that in stores do. I usually always buy off Amazon and other online avenues, but I know tv's like these can bite the dust at anytime. I bought mine at Costco because this tv comes with a 2 year warranty and with a 3 year additional warranty for just $30. So I ended up buying this tv for less and have a 5 year warranty. These warranties usually apply at most warehouse and department stores. Now, on to the actual tv review. I've had this tv for a couple weeks and I have been very pleased. The Neflix app is amazing and comes in HD (1080) (which I note because if you are currently using your Playstation (720) or Wii (480) this does not appear in HD). The menus and functionality are awesome too. Oh, and the sound is great too. The sound really packs a punch for such a razor thin tv. Paired with the the HD package I have with my cable company this is just pure heaven while watching tv. I'm giving this a very fair 5 out of 5 because it deserves it.Again, I do recommend this TV whole heartedly, but please be smart and buy any TV at a reputable vendor that offers a really good warranty. These newer TV's are great but they are notorious for biting the dust. Amazon may be the cheapest but their warranties don't go far. Save yourself the heartbreak later and buy the warranty, and make sure the warranty is backed by a good retailer.Warranty + This particular TV = Awesome Sauce*******UPDATE*******So I actually was so impressed with my 370sl (37") model that I actually talked my wife into letting me buy the 470sl model (47"). Both models are superb. The picture is amazing and the apps are awesome. Plus both these models are very affordable (I bought both at Costco due to their awesome warranties and return policies) I fully recommend both these models. Oh and by the way, no I am not a fake review by some ad agency. I too hate it when bogus reviews falsely praise crappy products, but you can rest assured that these two tvs (370sl and 470sl) completely are legit. Just in case though, always check reviewers by their past reviews. Hope this helps anyone. Cheers!******FINAL Update****Sadly after buying both the 370sl and 470sl models both had a flaw that made me cringe. Both the models volume controls crap the bed. I loved both these tv's because they had the very best picture available in my opinion. My 37" volume started going up and down during programs, mainly during apps like Netflix. Then it started happening to the other one. Then it started happening while watching cable. I did some research and found out that it is kind of common with these models. I'm really bummed because I thought these tv's were amazing. After working with Vizio on the phone with a firmware update they said they could send someone out. I declined due to the fact that I had already read 3 reviews where this had been a problem and even the techs were unable to fix it. I decided that maybe these were a bad omen of things to come. I returned both tv's and bought a higher priced Samsung. After making the switch I now know why Samsung has a higher price tag. Samsung far surpasses Vizio in every way, except apps. The apps on Vizio can't be beat. Vizio's interface is ultra fast processing apps. I'd say the apps are Vizio's best selling point. I don't want to get into comparisons between Samsung and Vizio, because I don't feel people read these reviews to hear about other products. Also, I think Vizio is a great company and I don't want to bash on them. Sometimes these things happen. In my case it happened twice. In conclusion, I would do some research on these models. I found that this specific model has had the same problems with fluctuating volumes. The rep at Costco also said that I was not the first person to return these model tv's with the same problem. I hope anyone that buys this has better luck than I did. I love Vizio. I have owned 4, not including these and been extremely happy. Anyways, hope you can see how things started great with these tv's but soon went down hill. Oh well, I'm happy with my Samsung.......for now. I'm giving this tv 2 stars and not one because it is unfortunate that such a great tv, with great apps and picture quality, had to have such a flaw. Anyone else run into this?

5Great TV
By Josef of Wilton
Wanted a larger LED TV. Read reviews from Consumers Reports and on Amazon. I had never heard of Vizio, but when I read it is a USA company, I had to try. It arrived on time, the driver opened and help me set it up. I never expected that. Very easy to setup, register and start watching. The picture is beautiful, we love the TV! Netflix, Pandora & yahoo wizards are very easy to setup. The remote has a back with a qwerty keyboard making log in to websites a breeze. The inputs are adequate. We use cable with WiFi. Defintely recommend this TV. 55" is awesome!

5This is not the Syntax Olevia 232V LCD HDTV
By johnb|aze
First, I must say that I own the Syntax Olevia 232v and the unit that will be shipped from DiscountJungle IS NOT a 232v. The 232v is easily identified by the two vertical speakers on either side of the screen hence the 232"v" model number. I'm not sure what model this is in the picture but I'd be highly upset if I paid for a 232v and received this instead. With that said, if you are on the fence about purchasing the Olevia 232v you can carefully and calmly step down and run and grab it as you will not be disappointed in any way. When I first saw the specs and read the reviews I was like yeah right but finally decided to give it a try after speaking with the Circuit City store manager who said I could simply return it if I didn't like. The colors are very true and bright for an LCD. The blacks and whites are vivid and rival anything by Sony within $1000. The screen is very bright which is manaually adjustable or adjustable via 3 different presets (dark, medium, bright) depending on the lighting in the room.Even though Olevias american website doesn't mention it this unit DOES have Clear QAM and the network HD stations are amazing once you get your antenna connected and adjusted. By the way, Olevia's asian website does properly list clear QAM in the 232v specifications. I got about 10 HD channels immediately and there looks like there are about 5 or so that my antenna can't reach. The sound is decent but I bought a Denon HTIB to handle the audio. Altogether with my PS3, Denon HTIB w/DVD player, and PS3 this is a very nice setup. BTW, Resistance "Fall of Man" in 1080i is simply stunning![...]

5Olevia 232V - 32" LCD TV - AWESOME!!!
By YhwhKhai
First I would like to say that I totally back up the first reviewer as far as the make and model of this TV is concerned. It is not the crappy version that you see here on Amazon. I also would not have purchased this one for the price. The version that they have looks like an oversized regular model TV. Nothing I would spend more than $200.00 for. The 232V model I have has two speakers - one on each side. Now let's get to my personal review.I purchased this TV about two or so weeks ago and I'm extremely pleased. Even though this unit does not carry the so-called brand name, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SILENT KILLER! The colors & picture are absolutely stunning. My DVD player comes through with great clarity. WOW! No problems with the volume. I use this with the minimum volume settings and it still appears loud (without the home theater system on). I wanted to test the volume by increasing it, only to hurt my eardrums halfway through. The speakers work great. I also have a SONY Theater System attached to this baby so you know I'm riding high in the clouds. My son is jealous and now he wants this TV. I paid about $550.00 at Circuit City when they were running a sale. You can't go wrong. This TV could hang up there with the other 32" costing hundreds more.I bet if you put this TV side by side with the other models costing more, you would probably see no difference. I read the reviews on Circuit City's website before I made my final decision and I couldn't be more pleased. This TV has plenty of hookups in the back of the unit for various devices. There's no shortage here. At the moment, I have two DVD players attached (DVD & Recorder), theater system, and I'm in the process of getting my Direct TV attached next.I have this unit attached to a swivel wall mount. I was going to write a review about the wall mount, but I do not see it listed on Amazon. The wall mount that they have only has four screws that you would use to attach the unit to the TV mount, mine has six. Since I was going to attach a tv that weighs about 40 pounds, why not get a device that can hold it more firmly. Maybe it's my paronoia, but who wants to come home one day to find their $500.00 unit on the floor in pieces? Be aware, not all wall mounts work with all flat panels. They say universal, but some people have been caught out there big time!!!!!!(As of 6/9/08, it looks like Amazon has the correct pic of this tv.)

5An Excellent Way to Get Into High Definition Viewing
By S. Bernstein
I picked this TV up in April 2007 and viewed it in 480p ("enhanced definition") by upconverting my DirecTV signal through my Panasonic DMR ES-10 DVD recorder. Viewed straight on, the picture was pleasing and sharp, and the colors vivid. From an angle, the picture became fuzzy but I was impressed enough to keep the TV and make the leap into the world of flat screen TV.Two days ago, I had DirecTV's high def DVR installed and connected it to the TV with spectacular results. The colors and clarity on Miami CSI blew me away, and when watching baseball you can see every drop of sweat, every pore, and even the faces in the crowd are distinct. With the new high def receiver/DVR (which receives local digital and standard definition broadcasts as well), all signals look great, even standard def, from ALL viewing angles. That's key, because the quantity of high def programming is still somewhat limited to selected sports, local news and many prime time shows and movies. In fact, the standard def and digital broadcasts look far better than on my brother's high def SONY flat screen and the high def looks just as good. For an apartment, bedroom or office, this TV simply can't be beat at this price. My only reservations are the average sound (which can be output to a powered 2.1/5.1 system if you need to add bass) and limited inputs (1 HDMI, 1 component, 1 component/VGA). I have my laptop hooked into the VGA input, and its great to see my digital photos leap to life on the 32" screen. I also recommend that you take the time to learn how to manipulate the aspect ratios on the TV as well as the use of formatting/native/non-native resolution settings that are part of your cable or satellite receiver. Making slight adjustments will ensure the best possible picture, but if you're not into such tinkering the "out of the box" picture is excellent in its own right. The on-screen menus do take some getting used to, but if you are basically comfortable with technology and video equipment, you'll pick it up fast enough. Overall, an amazing value and a great entry point TV for any high-res TV fan. At this price, it makes a lot of sense to go for it!

4Solid TV
By Michi
I bought this TV from Aldi's when it was on sale. I was worried about the quality, but have to say that I am very happy with it. I use it as my second TV in the bedroom. The HD picture is beautiful. However, to be picky, the backlight is not completely even and the blacks are not as black as most more expensive TV's these days. Then again, for the price I paid, I did not expect Sony or Samsung quality. PS3 games also look gorgeous on this via HDMI. The speakers are fairly weak, I had a leftover set of computer speakers which I plugged into this TV and it sounds great now. If anyone has a region hack for this, I would appreciate it if you could post it.

1ORION / Sansui will not stand behind product
By Chick Daniels
Less than two years ago, I bought an Orion/Sansui TV. Less than a year later, it blew up. Was under warrantee, so they had to pay for it's repair. The digital board was shot among other things. Now less than a year after that, it blew up again. Called Orion assuming that the replacement parts from less than a year ago would also be under the same 1 year warrantee, but was shocked to discover they only put a 90 day warrantee on their replacement parts. So I told the lady very nicely that she could at least pay the $35 to have my set looked at by the repair shop and she wouldn't do it. So I told her they were gonna lose one way or the other. I obviously bought a lemon, and they wouldn't stand behind their product, nor their parts. I told her she could help me out, or with my remaining 30 or 40 years on this planet I would tell everyone I know to NOT BUY ANY ELECTRONICS FROM ORION. I assured her that I would be certain to persuade enough people to not buy their product that they would be worse off than standing behind their product now. She chose this route:DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ORION. IT IS JUNK, and they will NOT stand behind their product.
